ABOUT THE WRITER
Selma is a research officer in the Value Chains, Finance and Investment research team and is based in Nairobi. She performs economic research on the effectiveness of different inclusive business models to improve smallholder livelihoods and combat deforestation and land degradation. Selma holds a Masters in Development Economics and a Masters in Health Economics. Before joining CIFOR she worked as a consultant for APE Public Economics on the evaluation of several development programmes of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her research interests are: impact evaluation methods (both quantitative and qualitative), agroeconomics and inclusive rural development.
