ABOUT THE WRITER
Salla leads CIFOR’s studies on national REDD+ policy initiatives in Tanzania. Previously, she worked with the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, focusing on issues of biodiversity conservation and landscape governance. Currently, she is completing her PhD in the University of Helsinki, Finland, on the governance practices and social outcomes of exclusionary and participatory forest conservation in Tanzania. She also holds a MSc. in Biology from the University of Helsinki. You will find Salla at her happiest on adventures in the African bush for work and leisure.
