ABOUT THE WRITER
Patrick Ranjatson is a professor at the University of Antananarivo’s forestry school. He is a social specialist with research interests in local resources management, tenure rights and how to improve national forest policy from the perspectives of rural people. Current and recent projects include studies of forest landscape restoration and land tenure/governance in east-central and northwestern Madagascar and the impacts of human migration on land use change in forest frontiers.
