Blanca Begert is a writer, researcher and multimedia producer covering forests, Indigenous land rights, climate change, and environmental justice issues in the US and in Latin America. She holds a Master of Environmental Science degree from the Yale School of the Environment, where she specialized in forest management and political ecology. Her research explores the conflicts over protected area management and carbon trading in Peruvian Amazonia. She has also conducted research on policies affecting Indigenous land rights and livelihoods with the Center for International Forestry Research in Peru.
