ABOUT THE WRITER
Augusta M. Anandi is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR), and a PhD fellow at CIFOR working on the COLANDS project. Augusta began her career as a GIS specialist with UN-OCHA and the Indonesian government during the rehabilitation phase post-tsunami and earthquake in 2004 in Aceh, Indonesia. Augusta has also worked with several non-profit international organizations over the past 15 years, including CIFOR and the USAID funded project USAID LESTARI. That work involved detailed spatial planning, strategic environmental assessment, participatory land-use zoning, multilevel governance approaches, research on REDD+, and oil palm RSPO certification.
