ABOUT THE WRITER
Daisuke Naito is a scientist with the Center for International Forestry Research’s (CIFOR) Forests and Livelihoods Program. Prior to joining CIFOR he was based in Kyoto, working for the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature. He has worked in Southeast Asia since 2001, worked on research on market-based natural resource management such as forest certification and REDD+ and its impact on local communities. He holds a PhD from Kyoto University.
