Muktar, a forest ranger patrolling the Ulu Masen Forest forest in Indonesia’s Aceh province. Muktar was an illegal logger in the forest for more than 10 years before undergoing training to become a forest ranger. Run by Fauna and Flora International, the training recruits young men from the villages to become rangers, helping people understand how to protect the forest while providing economic benefits and livelihood opportunities to local communities.
