Reuben Carder is a journalist. Starting out on the commodities beat in the Jakarta bureau of Dow Jones Newswires in 2006, he then moved to macroeconomics and general news coverage for several years before a two-year stint post on the resources editing desk in Singapore. Since 2012 he has been working as a consultant in Indonesia in the areas of development communications and policy and legal and human rights monitoring. He has appeared on television several times to report on earthquakes in Indonesia, and is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
